WWII Foundation Presents D-Day: Over Normandy
WWII Foundation Presents D-Day: Over Normandy
Event Details
Hosted by New England Patriots Linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion Rob Ninkovich.
The public is invited to the world premiere of the new documentary film D-Day: Over Normandy narrated by the only five-time Super Bowl-winning head coach in NFL history, Bill Belichick.
Coach Belichick’s father Steve served in WWII in the United States Navy and saw time in both Europe and the Pacific.
The World War II Foundation hired one of France’s top aerial Drone camera companies to film some of the most iconic locations in Normandy from D-Day. The result is some of the most spectacular scenes of the landing beaches viewers have ever seen. In 2016 the WWII Foundation will tell the story of these famous locations utilizing ONLY aerial footage from our Drone camera, along with archival footage from June 6, 1944.
This will be the only New England showing of the film prior to its airing on American Public Television.
Rob Ninkovich, veteran New England Patriots Linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion will be the official host of the event. Ninkovich will speak prior to the film’s showing and then take part in a Q & A session with an Omaha Beach D-Day veteran and Tim Gray, Producer and Director of D-Day: Over Normandy, following the film. “It’s great that Rob will be able to attend and represent the Patriots organization,” said Tim Gray, “Rob is one of the more popular players on the Patriots and one of the hardest working. Anytime you get to have a two-time Super Bowl champion at one of your events, it’s great. Rob also realizes he has the opportunity to play this great game because of all our veterans have done and continue to do to preserve our way of life.”
Please note that due to his hectic schedule, Bill Belichick will not be able to attend the event.
